The PDGA Majors Committee has established a preliminary list of premier disc golf events that will serve as automatic qualifiers for the inaugural PDGA Champions Cup, set to take place April 13-17, 2022, at the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, Georgia.

The list will include champions from all 2021 PDGA Elite Series events, comprised of five PDGA National Tour and 11 Disc Golf Pro Tour stops, as well as all MPO/FPO Majors, including Pro Worlds, the European Open, the United States Disc Golf Championships, and the United States Women’s Disc Golf Championship.

Also included will be the MPO and FPO champions from seven Euro Tour events, several National Championships including Canadian Nationals, the Australian Disc Golf Championships, the New Zealand Disc Golf National Championships, the Japan National Championships and the Malaysian National Championship, as well as the FA1 and MA1 champions from premier amateur events including PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships, USWDGC, the United States Amateur Disc Golf Championships and the National Amateur Disc Golf Tour Championship.

The Majors Committee may, at its discretion, continue to add more qualifying events throughout the 2021 season, and may reserve invites for international players not otherwise qualified (up to five each, MPO and FPO).

Additionally, future iterations of the PDGA Champions Cup are expected to grant automatic qualification to top finishers from previous years’ results. Remaining spots will be filled through a tiered registration system.
