Updated Points Criteria for 2023 PDGA Player of the Year

The PDGA is announcing an update to the criteria to determine the 2023 Players of the Year in MPO and FPO. This update puts an added emphasis on wins with a steeper depreciation of points for the subsequent finishing positions. The criteria still place the most emphasis on PDGA Majors followed by Elite Series, while still recognizing achievements in A-tier events. Additionally, the updated criteria cap the number of elite events at 10, ensuring that players do not need to compete in all events in order to win the award. The cap of 10 A-tier events remains in place from prior years’ criteria.
