I played barber park sat with a few buds and really enjoyed the course if you follow the map and already know what the reviews about the tees are then you will have no trouble. They could add some sign posts to the tee boxes to help you spot them at a distance bout all in all I had and great time and will go back for sure...

All in all, Elliot did a good job laying out a nice, fairly long, pro level, mostly open course. As other reviewers mention, it does have design flaws, flying over the amphitheatre audience area on 1 and 4 and through a couple of picnic spots on 4. And the walk between 8 & 9 might be the worst, most dangerous design flaw I've ever encountered. Tee pads, especially dual tee pads would be a tremendous addition, since, by and large, it is laid out as a pro/advanced level course. There are pitifully poor plans for non-golf additions to the park, which are poorly planned in accordance to dumb mass Dummycrap flood plane rules and regs. That, along with the upcoming construction of a new YMCA with soccer pitches will relegate most, if not all of the disc golf course to the stench filled swampland next to Buffalo Creek, Greensboro's septic tank. From what I've been told and shown on maps, there's not going to be enough available land for a course, unless it's turned into a Beth Schmidt style Tiki course, or players are wearing water proof, high top shoes or boots.

I played this course for the first time this past week. I went back the next day to play again. I found it quite enjoyable.
Pros: This course has about half of the baskets in open fairways and the rest are wooded, but not heavily. There are some good uphill shots and some fun downhill shots as well. The maps and scorecards for the course are at tee 1 in the mailbox and they were helpful for navigation!
Cons: Course tees are rock and dirt, not much fun after rain. The map is a little off scale and some of the tee/basket locations are a little hard to find on the first trip there. After basket 9, walk down the wooded path for tee 10. Tee 10 is not beside the ball field.

Overall, I really had fun here. I am a beginner, just fyi. Great scenery and takes you on a nice tour of the natural areas of Barber Park.

Note: Some of the shots from tee to basket are close to picnic areas and walking paths. Make sure no one is coming and be sure not to let a disc get away from you if others are near on the paths. Wouldn't take much for a rouge disc to get someone.

Con: Not much of a challenge. If you can throw it reasonably long and straight you'll be fine. The lack of pads is a real negative- it was not addressed during construction and I was told by a park employee they were not forth-coming. No signs, layout can be confusing, but there is a map/scorecard at the first tee. Still, you'd be happier playing with someone who knows the course. Only one basket placement per hole.

Pro: Good for beginners. Rarely crowded- which allows for plenty of practice shots. If you're into high-speed golf, this is the course for you. Parking a-plenty, and close to the highway.

Could have been so much better. A few well placed trees would make this a lot more interesting, and if you can't afford a pad, at least place a sign marking the tees! More pin placements please.

I played this course for the first time at the 2010 Ice Bowl. I love playing this course due to the multitude of shots required. The local players were very nice and helpful.
Pros: a wide variety of shots required to do well. Scenery was very pleasant and I could only imagine when the leaves come back in how good this course will look. Challenging but not to the point a beginer could not have fun.
Cons: Needs concrete tee pads (this may be delayed due to upcoming park construction), got to have signs to guide you, if there wasnt a local player in our group (even with a map on the scorecard) this can get confusing.
Overall: Really enjoyed playing the course, had a great time and still had a challenge!
