Probably the best free to play course in the country. Great facilities at the park with onsite cafes, toilets, parking etc.

Not all signage and tee mats are installed at time of writing but what is in is off a very high standard. The tee signs are informative and beautifully laid out.

The course plays through parkland with mature trees - there is a great balance of holes with long par 3's (135 meters) short par 3's (60 meters) and a couple of challenging par 4's There is a great balance between right and left holes and risk and reward is there on every hole.

There are a number of elevated greens which can get frustrating in the wind. The ball golf bunkers make for an interesting OB hazard, one or two may be situated a bit close to the baskets but these tend to be on the shorter holes so IMO offer a fair level of risk making for challenging putts. There are a couple of holes where you sometimes have to wait for pedestrians to clear but this is not normally too much of an issue. Holes 11 and 14 have blind areas which should be checked before driving to ensure no one is in the way. Hole 6 Pinball Wizard and hole 9 Fireant are particular favourites.

The flow of the course was disrupted by a council decision to plant wildflower on one of the main link up holes which should have sat between current holes 11 and 12, this is a shame and it is difficult to find your way currently to hole 12, also the way from 13 to 14 is not particularly clear. This should be addressed when all signage is complete.

The astro tees that have been installed to date are superb, although perhaps they could be longer, all 18 holes should eventually have the same.

The 10 hole red course offers a very different but testing challenge even to an experienced player - the flow between basket and tee is for the most part good but there are a couple of longish walks (40 - 50 meters) on a few of the holes - hole 1 - 2 is the biggest issue although it is easy to find the blue tee of 1 which clearly shows where the red tee is located.

All in all a great course through a beautiful park, it will test the full range of shots in the bag, the potential championship course around the lake when completed will elevate this to a 5 star course - at the moment it's a fun blue standard par 56 course playing to 1000 rated at about 52/53 the full championship course will turn it into a par 62 course playing 1000 rated to around 62.
