Course Reviews
Enjoyed playing this course greatly. Very well kept and challenging. Very well marked course with good grooming. Proper signage is in place on all holes and play moved nicely. Everyone I met was friendly and helpful. Definitely a must play. Like most courses, a little bug spray is likely needed.
A definite must play! Amazing course, very challenging, and super well kept. No dirt trails to the next tee, just well groomed fairways and built walk ways. A good varieties of holes as well. I'll be back there next weekend!
Rated too high, this is a nice course with many good points. but there is alot to be desired. The elevaion is just above flat, it can be very wet, and windy. There are a few too many short and to the left or right holes.I do enjoy the holes that call for a good tee shot and a long approch for a par three, Discgolf should have more of theses, and be par four's. Over all it is a nice course, and fun to play. But if you give it a four or a five rating, go play Grey Fox or Zobal in Wisconsin, much better courses.
I love this course and it deserves to have a great rating. Unique hole placements, good mixture of open fairway shots and tight wooded holes. Well maintained (always making improvements). Can be challenging to putt the open holes on windy days at this course. Great course for anyone no matter the skill level.
I was in the Chicago area in late August, 2011 and I had the privilege of playing the Community Park Disc Golf Course in Channahon for the second time (the 1st time was 2 years ago). I was totally impressed by all aspects of this disc golf course. Great tee pads, functional tee signs, all baskets in good working order and manicured fairways. The most impressive part of this course that puts it above most courses that I have played in over 30 years of disc golf was the attention to detail that has gone into the course. Numerous garbage cans (that are actually used!) block retaining walls, natural plantings near tee pads, bridges, pathways all contributed to a really great experience.
Must visit park, VERY well maintained (thanks to Frank), signs at every hole, concrete tees, some alt. tees, good mix of shots, busy in the afternoons and on weekends. easily the Nicest course in the area.
I never get sick of playing at Community Park, I play this course at least once a week. The maintenance of this course so far this year is fantastic. The fairway's are always nicely mowed, new mulch always being put in along the paths, the signs and baskets are all in tact and in good condition, and there is almost no trash at all anywhere! Very good mixture of distance and difficulty, and creatively styled holes. Community Park will definitely always be one of my favorites, I am happy to say this is my hometown course.
Great course with a wide variety of shots. About the only thing missing is tight tunnel shots. Some well placed elevation changes add difficulty and fun to the course. Couple of over 400 foot holes as well. A few holes may get a little sloppy after lots of rain, but overall plays well for wet days. Well maintained with good signs up. Changed pin position a little further to the right on number 5 as of last visit on 10/11/09.

This is a good course.
My complaint, in years past, about the course is that it doesn't drain well, and has a lot of standing water, which encourages mosquitoes. This, I acknowledge, would be EXTREMELY expensive to fix (digging ditches and/or creating a retention pond or two without disturbing trees....).
I played it in Nov.-Dec 2017, though, and found that they've put a lot of effort into creating paths that rise above the muck. It was chilly outside, so much of the water was in thin layers of ice, but it's clear that they always putting work in on the course to make it progressively more playable, year by year.
