After a 4 hour drive, arriving here was pretty surreal. It is more than I thought it would be, plus more. There's an aura outside of disc golf that brings a new beauty to this place. As bangthechains put it, it feels like the land has mystical powers. I will try playing Flip City 100% of the time anytime i drive into Michigan from now on. It has everything a disc golf course can have to test your skill (besides water holes), and you really have to think about a few shots on this place, and its sometimes hard because you get distracted by all the badass stuff around that is FLIP CITY

Totally agree on it missing a water hazard, other than that its the most challenging and beautiful course in michigan, second favorite being riverbends because it has so much water.

It's flip city in Michigan it's unmatched no course can compare its amazing, I have played around 100 courses and some great some awful... Like a little park course near me, that will go unnamed that's in a city called howell. This is the best of the best hands down, some have come close but few have the mix this course has, only thing missing is a water hazard but you can't blame him for that is just awesome, and he used the most out of the land something hard to find.

Finally got to play Flip City. Excellent! I have played a couple of hundred courses around the country and this is the best.

I have played nearly every course on the west side of MI and this is the only course I have played that I would give a perfect 5 star rating. The course is absolutely beautiful and challenging and was immaculately constructed by the owner Bill. Bill is very passionate about disc golf and his passion for the sport translates into the most fantastic course that you could play. All cement tee's and metal baskets and Bill mows it probably every week. There are even paths mowed in the rough to more easily find your disc if you throw off the fairways on this 24 hole course. Do yourself a favor, if you live in MI, drive here and play this course. Pack a lunch, throw 48 or 72 holes and make a day of it, this course is THAT good.

I haven't played a great number of Michigan courses, maybe 25 or so, but from the experience I must say that Bill McKenzie's Flip City is the best of the best. Until playing Kansas City's Water Works and Cliff Park I thought that Flip City was the only course that may get a 5 rating from me, after playing those two courses, I put Flip City right alongside of those greats. What sets Flip City aside as truly unique is that Flip is ONE MAN'S lifetime work of carving, grooming, sculpting and more grooming, the true story of someone saying "if I build it, they will come". Bill built it and now they do indeed come. The course has elevation changes, great pin placement, nice concrete tee pads with brooms at most stops, pavilions out on the course and much more that would take way too long to describe and even then, you wouldn't start to imagine just how beautiful Flip City is. A visit to this course is a must for all that are within driving distance, basically, everyone that plays disc golf and lives within the USA. As far as any negatives to the course, take your bug spray. When you get back to the holes that make it a 24 hole course you may be carried away by mosquitoes, otherwise you'll leave thinking "maybe I should rent or build a house near this place.
