We don’t usually play on pay to play courses but we are staying in the area and the next closest courses are over an hour away or on military bases where you need an ID to get on the base. It’s a solid course. Almost entirely in the woods. It’s not so densely tree’d you feel like all your doing is hitting tree after tree. But it is tough for a casual player. Not miserable, but definitely tough. Despite what the description says, all 18 holes are complete. The Lions course on the same property looks way more interesting than The Lair, but allegedly it doesn’t have a full 18 yet. That said, I’d recommend playing The Lions over The Lair based on what I can see. The Lair is solid, but not that interesting.

Neffinitely not for the faint of heart. You better know what your doing when you play this course. A great mix of tight and open holes with woods on most of it. Water hazards a plenty and in play including a few you "have" to throw over. Wish it was closer because I would play it regularly. On hot days bring plenty of water because you're not getting back to your car soon. You can take a dip in the lake to cool off but even that gets warm near the shore. Great weekend trip if you want to play all the layouts.
