Pros:
Great signage
Concrete tee pads
Winter/summer layout
Every hole was different and required a different shot
Tree coverage was nice and made for added challenge

Cons:
Busy, even very early, just after dawn
Some directions were confusing for 1st timers

Other Thoughts:
Great overall experience!
My favorite hole was 18 with the huge drop off
Definitely one of the best I've played!

Pier Park is perhaps the premier course in the Northwest. A beautiful park with plenty of old growth cedars, pines, and oaks. Mostly wooded with few open shots. Well laid out with good length and many tight fairways. Very few holes have dense growths of spindly trees which require as much luck as skill to navigate them. This course gets five stars as it challenges ALL levels of players and is located in a beautifully forested park which is a joy to be in. Pier park gets crowded on weekends and evenings, so expect delays or find the non peak hours. Enjoy!

Beautiful course playing through beautiful trees. A lot of different shots are needed to play this course, very nice layout. Could use better signs and directions around the course, if it wasn't for other players it would be easy to get lost on several holes. Certainly worth playing when you're in the Portland area.

I am not from the area, but wow---this is a great course. This is probably my favorite course that I have played. There is a lot of skill as well as the big drive making this course challenging and fun. It is a beautiful course---but just know that it is crowded so, plan on waiting. I waited 30 minutes to get on to hole 1 when I visited---completely worth the wait.

This course really deserves a 5, great diversity between all 18 holes. Long, short, tight, open, elevation changes. It has it all. Large enough that you can go 3+ holes without seeing another group. There is some walking between the holes, and they are poorly marked. Another kind of weird thought is that due to the hole layout LHBH throwers like myself will be more challenged as opposed to our RHBH counterparts. Also I wouldn't recommend this course to beginners as a bad round here might make you never want to play disc golf again. However this course is a good place to test your skill and you will literally use every disc in your bag. If the occasional homeless dude doesn't bother you, this is quite possibly one of the Top 5 courses in the Pacific Northwesst.

Pros - Challenging and fun course, especially hole 15 (The Hall of Tress)
Cons - Too many dopers smoking weed while playing, it smells so horrible when playing behind someone(or group) smoking a joint; muddy mess in winter/spring months. Baskets need a paint job and possibly flags to help identify them.

Pier Park is a beautiful and challenging course. It has technical fairways with trees and hills, however it lacks in the signage department.

one of the nicest/beautiful courses I've played; ranks up there with De La Vega in Santa Cruz. course seems to have a bit of everything long/short, trees, up hill, down hill.
great place
