Beautiful course. Variety of holes. Great flow. Well maintained. Well worth the drive from anywhere. This deserves 5 chains not sure what courses people think are better than this.

There's a reason the pros stop here. Probably most professional course in the area. 2 tees each hole to accommodate all levels. Very beautiful with a great view of the city (Hartford) on the skyline.

Excellent course. Best in CT. Great mix of open and wooded holes, par 3's and 4's. Well maintained in a beautiful park setting. They have worked a lot the past year adding new tees and clearing fairways for better flight paths. A wide variety of shots are needed to traverse the course. It would be five out of five if there was water. It can get busy but the great thing about the course is that you can drive to a different parking area and start at any of a number of different holes and avoid the congestion.

During clover season, if you are allergic to bee stings, make sure you have your EpiPen or some sort of antihistamine handy. Bring at least one liter of water. You can top it off in the aviary if need be. On a hot weekend, the concession stand has good sized ice cream cones at a reasonable price to cool you down.

You can bring the family for a picnic and sneak off and play a few holes or you can car pool with the guys or gals and the $4-$5 fee is nothing.

As everyone has mentioned, it's a very well taken care of course, and in a very unexpected suburb of east Hartford. There are a number of holes that require a big arm to reach the basket for par, and others that lend themselves to aces. I especially like the fact that each ace gets its own plaque on the signpost. It's pet friendly and since $4 gets you access to the entire park, you can stop at the bird santuary in the middle of the park or walk around the oriental garden for example. Since it's a multi-use park, however, there are lots of people around not paying attention to flying discs. Mostly this course just needs better signage between holes in order to go full 5 chains. I only played here while on vacation, but if I were anywhere near local I would make it my go-to course and would definitely travel for tournaments

This course can, at times, feel like your playing at a pro course. All the fields are mowed, wooded areas clean, cement tee-boxes, challenging terrain and an aviary to visit half way through. Public grounds with people having picnics and such, and there is a parking fee ($3 weekdays and $5 weekends). Not open in Winter months though. (Note: there are a few alternate holes "A thru D" that can change it up some.)

I am very impressed with how well maintained and nicely laid out Wickham Park is. Tight wooded holes lead to wide-open holes, this course will give both your accuracy and your distance throw a workout.

This course also offers an exceptional view of Hartford and is in a wonderful park with lots of nature for the whole family to enjoy. Give yourself time to check out the sensory garden while you are there.

Make sure you check out the link provided to the course / park. It even provides closings of the course.
