Salonen had the hot round of 8-under in the final trip through the woods of New London Tech to erase a three-stroke deficit to Handley entering the round and the two have separated from the field with a seven-stroke lead.
The 2024 PDGA Champions Cup winner was stellar off the tee, finishing18-for-18 in Circle 2 in Regulation in a single-bogey round. Salonen had her longest putts down the stretch to turn in the hot round.
Handley righted the ship after a bogey-bogey start with two more eagles at New London for a 5-under round.
Kat Mertsch sits in solo third place with a 10-under score and Natalie Ryan rounds out the lead card at 9-under.
Robinson is averaging 1060 golf through three rounds in Virginia and another steady round of 7-under extended his lead by a stroke to four. The defending champion isn't leading in any major statistical categories but is near the top and steady across every metric. His only two bogies so far cam on Friday but he was able to bounce back in a tense day on the track.
Joseph Anderson also continued his solid play on Friday with a 6-under round and is four strokes back in solo second place. Anderson had two stretches of four-straight birdies on Friday and went 10-of-11 from C1X.
Niklas Anttila had the hot round of 9-under to jump five spots into solo third place and a 20-under total, six back of Robinson. Luke Taylor rejoins the lead card after his 7-under effort on Friday in a tie for fourth with Calvin Heimburg and Simon Lizotte.
Action shifts to Ivy Hill Golf Club for the rest of the tournament and the race for a PDGA World title is on.
