Open Divisions

Norway’s Anniken Steen continues to steer the FPO division. Her 920-rated second round on the Kokkedal White course was good enough to keep a charging Laura Posch at bay by a single stroke going into the final round. Posch, from Vienna, Austria, put together the hot round with a 929-rated bid.

The FPO battle remains tight with four players within one stroke of the lead. After a moving day round of leads switching back and fourth on the last few of holes, the final round is sure to produce a good show.

In MPO, big shots ruled the round.

Elias Gripler from Järfälla, Sweden made a huge outside-the-circle putt on hole 13 to keep his par scramble intact. This pin placement, positioned on a significant slope and battling howling crosswinds, garnered plenty of layups, even within five meters. He currently sits in a three-way tie for third place.

Not to be outdone, Arild Knudsen from Oslo, Norway carded the ace on the 50-meter par-three seventeenth.

KJ Nybo scored the hot round, fighting through his leg injury from earlier in the week. He left the course in 28th place after round one and was unsure if he would play today. He started the morning saying he will simply play one hole at a time, not knowing if he can finish the round. Well, he did, and he moved up to seventh place. What will tomorrow hold for the local favorite?

Meanwhile, Swede Josef Berg separated himself for solo first with one round to go, finishing just one throw shy of the hot round pace. Søren Handrup from Aarhus N, Denmark is close behind, just two strokes off the lead.

Masters Divisions

In MP40, Germany’s Jan Baess, takes a commanding six-throw lead going into the final round. The FP40 division saw Pia Andersson from Gothenburg, Sweden surged to the lead, shooting the only 900+ rated round in the division.

MP50 continues to see Jens Rud from Esbjerg, Denmark lead the division. Sweden’s Torbjörn Svensson carded the only eagle, from any division, on the formidable par four eleventh. Germany’s Wolfgang Kraus continues to dominate the MP60 division, leading by 17 throws.
