Thanks for the clarification, Steve. If anyone is curious about why an exclusion of employees does not necessarily exclude sponsored players, it's because sponsored players are not generally employees. Rather, they generally are independent contractors, which does not equate to an employer-employee relationship on its own.

The bylaw change also does not affect Committees because the eligibility for Committee membership resides in a different section entirely (6.1).
