The PDGA is proud to announce a grant-based partnership with Universal Play Disc Golf (Uplay).

In December of 2021, Uplay presented the organization's strategic plan, quarterly and annual goals for 2022’s disc golf teaching events. Uplay’s existing track record with their Community Connect programs and plans for continued education-based disc golf advocacy were the primary drivers for the grant award through the PDGA's Youth and Education Funding for Advocacy or Education-Based Organizations.

“This grant and partnership with the PDGA is truly exciting for Uplay,” said Zoe AnDyke, Executive Director of Uplay. “It enables us to further our impact and demonstrate to these communities that Uplay and the PDGA are dedicated to educating children about disc golf and building healthy lifestyles.”

Uplay has already taught disc golf to over 20,000 children. Their program has also helped instruct more than 3,000 educators and coaches on how to effectively introduce and teach disc golf to all ages of participants.

“Uplay has already demonstrated a strong commitment to the improvement of youth programs and physical education classes by providing a meaningful implementation of disc golf curriculum,” said Justin Menickelli, PDGA Youth and Education Consultant. “Their track record speaks volumes and the PDGA believes their future impacts will continue to do so as well.”

Uplay is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2017 by disc golf professional and gifted teacher Zoe AnDyke. Zoe founded the organization with a mission to promote health and well-being and enhance communities through the provision of disc golf educational programs throughout the world.

Uplay believes that today's youth face a variety of unhealthy habits and potentially dangerous activities. To address this, Uplay uses disc golf to teach core values of respect, integrity, honesty, confidence, and sportsmanship, values that align with the PDGA’s mission. Uplay introduces disc golf as a fun, low-impact, easy-to-learn outdoor sport that improves physical fitness, body awareness, concentration, and goal-setting. Uplay’s programs insert exercise into daily lives while instilling positive social and life skills.
