EMPORIA, Kansas — It’s a long way from Huntington Beach, but if you didn’t know better, you’d think Paul McBeth was right at home.

The five-time PDGA world champion is now also a five-time winner here—including the last three editions—at the tournament once known as the Glass Blown Open, and now, as the Dynamic Discs Open.

EMPORIA, Kansas – Take a deep breath and attack.

Hailey King did those two things time and time again on the second stop of the PDGA National Tour at the Dynamic Discs Open and, as a result, she left Emporia with a glass-blown trophy.

The days of bogey-free disc golf are over for the world’s top players in Emporia, it would seem.

Through the first two days of the Dynamic Disc Open there were 17 clean rounds carded by the field; on Friday there were none.

Paul McBeth came close. His only hiccup came in the form of a double bogey on the challenging 699-foot par-4 9th after he went OB off the tee and was forced to stop the bleeding with a clutch 38-foot putt.

EMPORIA, Kansas – Camaraderie accompanied competition during moving day at the Dynamic Discs Open.

But don’t get it twisted, there will be another battle between Hailey King and Catrina Allen on Championship Saturday.

After exchanging blows throughout the second stop of the PDGA National Tour, it was King getting the upper hand on Friday at the Emporia Country Club, erasing a three-stroke deficit to Allen with a 5-under 62 to take a one-shot lead into the finale.
