No matter what, he wasn’t letting this one slip away.

It was the mentality that Ricky Wysocki brought into the week of the 2022 Disc Golf Pro Tour – Dynamic Discs Open and, after emerging through the conditions, he took a victory lap around the Emporia Country Club on Sunday.

The victory, which ended at a six-stroke margin, is the second Elite Series win of 2022 season and the first in Emporia, Kansas.

Consistency drives success.

So far in the 2022 PDGA Elite Series season, no player has defined that more than Kristin Tattar.

After a dominant win a week ago, Tattar kept grinding until the very end at the 2022 Disc Golf Pro Tour – Dynamic Discs Open and will head back to Estonia with another piece of hardware.

“I fought hard until the end,” Tattar said. “I kept telling myself that I just have to keep throwing.

“Nothing is over until the last putt is in.”

Ricky Wysocki spent the morning practicing his layups. Kristin Tattar was playing for par. Brodie Smith was having fun. Paul McBeth won’t be around for the final round.

Safe to say, it was a wild one in Emporia, Kansas on moving day of the 2022 Disc Golf Pro Tour – Dynamic Discs Open.

“The wind was a big factor and at times I wasn’t sure what my discs were going to do,” said Tattar, who pulled away for a four-stroke lead heading into Championship Sunday. “It was tough, but I think I handled it well.

The midway point of the 2022 Dynamic Discs Open has arrived and after two days of a mental and physical challenge, the race to finish is set to be as wild as the first 36 holes of competition.

Battling the elements and a new course that demands commitment, precision and a short memory, the leaderboard saw a major shift as action shifts from the debut of the Supreme 18 at Jones Park to the Emporia Country Club.

Christine Jennings tapped in her birdie putt and walked off the Supreme 18 at Jones Park with a smile.

That wasn’t the case for much of the field on Thursday as the new track at Jones Park debuted — and showed its teeth — to kick off the 2022 Disc Golf Pro Tour – Dynamic Discs Open in Emporia, Kansas.

“I just felt like I played really clean,” said Jennings, the 2019 PDGA Rookie of the Year. “I put my discs under the basket, so I didn’t have to putt much and when I did, I made them.

“Just really clean today.”
