Feldberg Finishes On Top of Woodchuck Cider Drive for the Championship Disc Golf Points Series

Rock Hill, South Carolina--When David Feldberg stepped up to the 254th throw of his grueling four day encounter with one of disc golf’s most renowned courses at Winthrop Gold, he believed that this single putt would determine whether his incredible accomplishments during the 2010 season would be fulfilling or a flop.

Congratulations to the 2010 Vibram Open Champion Nikko Locastro, who never shot worse than a 1056-rated round of 55 during the three tournament rounds. Tied with Matt Orum entering the 18th and final hole, Nikko's victory wasn't assured until he scored a birdie 3 on the 650-ft. pro par four 18th hole, while Matt's upshot sailed into the out-of-bounds surrounding the island green and resulted in a score of bogey 5. With a final tally of 163 throws (17 under par) Nikko claims his first National Tour victory of 2010.

Congratulations to Sarah Stanhope for winning the Open Women Division at the 2010 Vibram Open! Sarah has now won the event two years in a row and is coming off a recent 2010 Professional Disc Golf World Championships win in Crown Point, IN. Based on the strength of a 997-rated final round of 63, Sarah cruised to a 5-throw margin of victory. Way to go, Sarah!

Congratulations to Maryland's Jim Myers for winning the Grandmasters Division at the 2010 Vibram Open. Based on the strength of a 1034-rated second round of 58, Jim jumped out to an 8-throw lead heading into the Finals and cruised to the win. Way to go, Jim!

The 2010 PDGA National Tour turns toward the homestretch this week in Leicester, Massachusetts, where the best disc golfers in the world will assemble for the Vibram Open at Maple Hill.

With seven NT events and the 2010 PDGA World Championships now in the books, players are running out of opportunities to move up the Woodchuck Cider Drive for the Championship points standings. The standings for the top 25 women and top 100 men are available at www.pdga.com/national-tour.

As July moves through the calendar quickly, the Woodchuck Cider Drive for the Championship is gaining in intrigue.  Our top players have been jockeying for position on the PDGA National Tour through the first seven events, but the next stop on “the Drive” is the World Championships, where players in the hunt will not have the option to swap out a better showing.

The Minnesota Frisbee Association is proud to welcome back the world’s best players to the 23rd Annual Minnesota Majestic National Tour Event and Amateur A tier to be held on June 25th to the 27th! Disc Golf's National Tour to Peak in Shadow of Mount Hood
2010 Beaver State Fling Adapts to Accommodate the Enormous Demand of the Event

When Beaver State Fling Co-Tournament Directors, Mike Phillips and Jeff Mittl, were soliciting feedback on what time of day the registration for the 2010 edition of disc golf's gold standard event would occur, their concerns were genuine.

"After the overwhelming online response we received during last year's event, we did not want to be caught unprepared when we opened the floodgates again this year," Mittl said.  "The Fling sold out in less than four hours last year, and we just wanted to make sure that everyone who wanted to play this year got a chance to sign-up."
