In August of 2009, disc golf lost one of its greatest proponents as well as one of the greatest human beings involved in flying disc sports in general after a long battle with Langerhans’ Cell Histiocytosis. Although he was known by many as one of the founders of Innova Champion Discs, Tim Selinske is remembered by even more as a kind, loving, caring, and friendly family member, co-worker, and mentor.

After squeezing two rounds into the second day of the 2019 PDGA Tim Selinske US Masters Championships, the leaderboards in many of the 12 divisions saw quite the shuffle. While some movement took place at Maple Hill in the afternoon, it was the short and technical course of Newton Hill in the morning that would cause the most trouble.

“On hole 3, [Johansen]’s putter hit the nub on the top of the basket and rolled about 40 feet down the hill,” said Mike Moser. “Then, mine did the same thing, except mine sat up and rolled to probably 80 feet away.”

The opening round of the 2019 Tim Selinske US Masters Championship is in the books, but with three rounds remaining it’s still anyone’s tournament to win. With 208 competitors spread out across three courses in the greater Worcester, Massachusetts area there’s still no telling where things will end up after the back-to-back shotgun-start rounds on Saturday.

After back-to-back weekends of the 2019 MVP Open, Steve Dodge and his crew are set to host yet another large-scale disc golf event for the third week in a row, the 2019 PDGA Tim Selinske US Masters. This PDGA Major unites both amateur and professional masters competitors, all of whom are looking to take home the coveted title of US Masters Champion in their respective divisions.

When the air horn sounded for the final round of the 2018 Tim Selinske US Masters Championship, there were many divisions where closely contended battles were about to begin. Cloudy skies and a light breeze gave the competitors a break from the heat and humidity of the previous rounds, providing a "no excuses"-type atmosphere in the race for the titles.

Three courses and 54 holes into the 2018 Tim Selinske US Masters and JohnE McCray has yet to card a single bogey. Add to that the 37 birdies he’s picked up since the opening round and it’s easy to see why he’s now sitting at the top of the leaderboard with a five-stroke cushion with only one round remaining.

Despite the consistent 20-25 MPH winds of the morning, the opening round of the 2018 Tim Selinske US Masters Championships proved to be as calm and clear as anyone could ask for on spring day in northern Indiana. All four courses of the Lemon Lake Flight Center were jam-packed, with the Pro Masters 40+ and Pro Masters Women 40+ taking on the shared land of the Gold and Silver courses, respectively.

The Gold and Silver layouts are the toughest of the five available on the property, playing mostly through the woods and measuring in at 8500 feet and 6500 feet, respectively. Keeping the disc on the fairway is vital, as getting out of the rough is almost never makes for an easy par save.
