Paul McBeth opens the event with the hot round of 11 under par which is a 50. His only blemish was the bogey on the final hole of the day. Right behind him is Florida's Calvin Heimburg along with the Michigan native, Jamie Mosier. They both sit at -9 after day 1. Rounding out the card is Matt Orum of Mobile, Alabama and Charlie Goodpasture of Florida.
