The First PDGA Major in Oz!
In January 2015, the first PDGA Major disc golf tournament will take place Down Under in Australia. In fact, the 2015 Aussie Open will be the first PDGA Major in the southern hemisphere. It will be exciting both on and off the course, with players and visitors having the chance to experience the sunny beaches and amazing wildlife that is unique only to Australia.
The Aussie Open will take place from January 29th - February 1st with a prize pool of over $30,000 and the chance to be crowned Aussie Open champion. The event promises to attract many of the world’s greatest disc golfers as players will have the chance to showcase their skills over four days in the rolling hills of the championship Mundaring DiscGolfPark in Perth, Western Australia.
For the true blue relaxed Aussie experience, a very affordable weeklong accommodation package at the beachfront tournament hotel is offered. This option is available for booking during the registration process and will lock in your chance to enjoy the nation-wide Australia Day festivities. The Aussie Open website also includes all the details a touring player needs to know about travelling to Australia.
Phase 1 of registration opens on September 15th, 2014. To find out more, stay tuned to the tournament website: www.aussieopen.info
