PDGA Canada
PDGA Canada was set up in 2007 as a branch of the PDGA headquarters in the USA, with the purpose of supporting and promoting disc golf and PDGA activities in Canada. As a means to help grow disc golf in Canada, per-player and non-member fees earned by Canada-based PDGA events (that would normally be sent to the PDGA headquarters) are given directly to the PDGA Canada office. The funds are reinvested into disc golf-related expenses and activities in Canada including new course equipment, upgrades to existing course equipment, event sponsorship, scholastic programs, and other worthwhile developmental initiatives that have requested and been approved for support.
Currently, the PDGA International Director, a Canadian residing in Toronto, also serves as the PDGA Canada Manager. His roles include Treasurer of PDGA Canada funds, reviewing Canada event reports prior to PDGA database entry, working with the elected PDGA Provincial Coordinators and provincial disc sports bodies, and responding to requests and inquiries from Canadian TDs, members, new course developers, etc.
For more information on PDGA activities and standards specific to Canada, please see the PDGA Canada Annual Report and Protocol documents below.
