PDGA Announces Exploration of New Doubles World Championship Format

The PDGA Board of Directors, in cooperation with PDGA staff, is excited to announce that a new doubles-based PDGA Major is being explored, with the potential inaugural event to be held in 2022. The concept and format for the event will be developed by the PDGA Majors/NT Committee for PDGA Board of Directors approval. The focus of the committee is to develop a new, wide-reaching doubles competition that will be accessible to multiple divisions representing a large cross-section of the PDGA membership. While this event is in its developmental stage, the PDGA will not be sanctioning a stand-alone doubles Major in 2020 or 2021. 

If the overall concept is approved, the event will be included in the release of bid packages for 2022 PDGA Majors in the summer of 2020.
