DGPT Announces 2022 Media Plan, Benefits for PDGA Members
(Press Release from Disc Golf Pro Tour - February 15, 2022)
The Disc Golf Pro Tour is excited to announce its live media plan for the 2022 season. The Disc Golf Network will broadcast all rounds for Elite Series and PDGA Professional Majors, including USDGC and European Open, live, all included with a Disc Golf Network subscription. Final day live coverage of Elite Series events are planned to continue to be available for free on YouTube for the 2022 season. Silver Series events will continue to have their final round broadcasts on Disc Golf Network when sufficient cellular capabilities are available, along with other events such as the DGPT Match Play Championship.
“We are thrilled to bring both the USDGC and the European Open to the Disc Golf Network as part of the 30+ event package included in the subscription,” said DGN CEO & Director Jeff Spring. The USDGC and European open will have pay-per-view options available for exclusive post-produced content as well as coverage of the President’s Cup. The post-production content will be released 30 days after the event ends on YouTube.
“This is a great and natural addition to the European Open Experience: we want the World to see the action from the Beast in Nokia, Finland. Over the last few years, Disc Golf Network has set the bar on disc golf live streaming, and we are happy to reach this agreement with them. There will be an unseen level of coverage from this top-three event in the World,” said Jussi Meresmaa, founder of European Open.
Disc golf fans will have more choice regarding how they want to consume disc golf. Disc Golf Network will also make individual tournaments and rounds available to purchase for those who do not have a Disc Golf Network subscription. Individual rounds will start at $4.99 per round with tournaments starting at $9.99. Pricing will vary based on the event and event length. A Disc Golf Network subscription will be $11.99 per month or $99.99 annually for the 2022 season.
With the DGPT becoming the official Pro Tour of the PDGA, PDGA members will have complimentary access to the Las Vegas Challenge, the Champions Cup, the U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championship, the final two rounds of Pro Worlds, and the MVP Open. More information on how to access this content will be made available soon. PDGA members will also continue to receive a discount on a Disc Golf Network subscription and will pay $5.99 per month. PDGA members will be able to generate their discount code from this page, which needs to be resubmitted yearly. Any questions or issues regarding your PDGA discount code can be directed to Disc Golf Network Support.
The Disc Golf Pro Tour season will kick off with the All-Star event, February 11-13. The regular season will begin February 24-27 with the Las Vegas Challenge. All events can be seen live on Disc Golf Network. Fans can subscribe at discgolfnetwork.com.
