Important Junior / Amateur Worlds Schedule Updates
Please see below for important updates to the event schedule for Friday and Saturday. These changes are designed to ensure competitors in both the Amateur and Junior divisions can play a revised schedule that most closely resembles the original event schedule.
Junior Worlds
Updated Junior Worlds course schedule
The MJ18 semifinal location is the only division affected by the newest schedule change. That round will now be played at Eureka Permanent.
All other Junior divisions remain unchanged and the semifinal adjustment is the only change for MJ18.
Am Worlds
Updated Amateur Worlds course schedule
MA1
Round 2
Due to numerous suspensions in play due to lightning and air quality, MA1 will not complete their second round Thursday night. At 8:30 p.m. Central Time, all play will be stopped due to darkness. Players will mark their lie and resume play on Friday morning. Play will resume at 6:20 a.m. with a two-minute warning horn blast at 6:18 a.m..
Round 2 is estimated to be completed no later than 10:00 a.m. Central on Friday.
The shuffle will be done immediately following the completion of round two. This will combine the 36 common holes that have been played by the MA1 pools.
Round 3 tee times will be immediately posted and are anticipated to begin at 10:30 a.m. Central on Friday. It is imperative that competitors verify and submit their scorecards as soon as possible to facilitate the shuffle.
Players with a large number of holes to complete for round two should prepare for a quick turn around time INCLUDING potential travel between Northwood Park and Wildlife Park. Tournament staff will be on hand to help facilitate travel and food if need be.
We are anticipating round three for both MA1 pools finishing late Friday evening.
Round 3 and Round 4
Post shuffle A-pool will play Wildlife (modified) on Friday for Round 3 and Northwood Blue on Saturday for Round 4.
Post shuffle B-pool will play Northwood Blue on Friday for Round 3 and Wildlife (modified) on Saturday for Round 4.
Course notes
For speed of play, and to ensure all MA1 competitors are able to play four 18-hole rounds, a modified Wildlife course is being used. In addition, Northwood Black is being switched to Northwood Blue.
Modified Wildlife Course
There are only two changes to the course:
- Hole 5 will be played from the short pad
- Hole 16 will be played from the short pad
- Course rules and pars are unchanged
Event and PDGA staff made the determination that MA1 would not complete four rounds of play with Northwood Black still in the course schedule due to the longer round times at that course. MA1 was scheduled to play Northwood Blue in the original schedule, and this update adds Northwood Blue back to their schedule.
FA1
Round 4 will be played at Sunset Hills instead of Northwood Blue. The top four players after the fourth round will advance to a final nine at Northwood Blue. The final 9 schedule for FA1 will be released on Friday afternoon.
This change for FA1 includes the widest diversity of available courses from the originally published course schedule. This schedule allows them to play two rounds at each Sunset Hills and Northwood Blue.
