2023 USADGC Round 2 Recap
Through 36 holes at the 2023 United States Amateur Disc Golf Championship, Ryan Mulder has done everything right to put himself in the driver’s seat to take down a PDGA Major title.
With back-to-back clean scorecards, Mulder followed up Friday’s blistering opening round with another bogey-free day to extend his lead to five strokes heading into Championship Sunday.

Mulder followed his 1059-rated opening round of 10-under — the highest-rated round in the history of the USADGC — with a 6-under to build on his lead.
Mulder’s 1042 average through two rounds is the highest average through two rounds in USADGC history as well. He’s getting it done on the hardest holes on the track with birdies on 3, 8, 15 and 17 on Saturday. Those four holes are among the top six hardest, scoring-wise, this weekend among the 147-player field.
But it’s not over until it’s over at the famed Toboggan course, where danger looms large at every turn and the weather is expected to change on Sunday.
Tanner Boggs kept his spot on the lead card and is in solo second place at 11-under. Korbin Myers turned in the hot round on Saturday (-7) to jump to the lead card into a tie for third place with Danny Moynihan, who also keeps his spot on the lead card with 18 holes to go in Milford, Michigan.
While his play has been clean and the lead is five strokes, there is a track record for come-from-behind wins at the USADGC.
A year ago, Ilkin Groh overcame a four-stroke deficit in the final round and eventually won the title in a playoff. Other final-round wins include Clint Calvin (2 strokes in 2018); Colten Montgomery (3 strokes in 2014); Ted Stoebling (4 strokes in 2012).
Mulder is in control, but 18 holes and a strong field stand between him and taking down a Major championship.
