You know the names of the previous winners of this PDGA Major — David Wiggins Jr., Benjamin Callaway, Anthony Barela, Gavin Rathbun, Kyle Klein and Robert Burridge, among many others — and at the end of three days on the demanding hills in Michigan, you'll learn a new name.
There will be so many in the hunt.
Thirty states are represented this year and the talent pool is deep.
Thirty-seven of the 148-player field are rated over 970 and so many have history of playing at Junior and Amateur Worlds. Those two PDGA Majors are on the schedule for a lot of the field this year for the final time with the next goal of their disc golf career locked in: Going pro.
Fifty-four holes separate the next name from taking that next step.
Stay tuned for next-day coverage of the USADGC from Gatekeeper Media on the PDGA's YouTube channel.
