PDGA Amateur Major kicks off Friday at Toboggan
Who’s got next?
A record field of 158 players will hit the famed Toboggan course in Milford, Michigan this weekend with a chance to join elite company, chase a PDGA Major title and continue their rise through the disc golf ranks.
As it’s been throughout the 21-year history of the United States Amateur Disc Golf Championship, the competition will be tough and the course even tougher beginning Friday.
Twenty-eight players enter the three-round 2022 USADGC presented by Discraft rated over 970 and on top of their skill, youth is served as well. Of the 158 players, 111 have a PDGA number over 100,000.
Payton Staman, #136030, checks in as the highest-rated player in the field at 996. Paul Krans, of Dudley, MA, is also in the 990 club at 991. Seven players are rated over 980 in the field.

A year ago, Robert Burridge cruised to a seven-stroke victory and continued the tradition of a long list of players making the jump to the professional ranks. Earlier in 2022, Burridge went on to win the Division I Individual Championship at the College Disc Golf National Championship and has hit the road — all while attending the University of Michigan — to compete in Disc Golf Pro Tour events. He picked up his first professional A-Tier win in May at the Lower Peninsula Open.
But Burridge is just the latest USADGC winner to move on. Take a look at the previous winners of the USADGC:

Not only will this be a record field for the USADGC, it will be covered like never before.
Terry Miller and The Disc Golf Guy crew will be on hand to cover a first-round feature card as well as the lead card for the final two rounds, which can be seen on the PDGA YouTube channel. Crew 42 will have a feature card on Friday and provide coverage of the chase card throughout the weekend. That coverage can be seen next week on their YouTube channel.
It’s time to see who is next.
