Kristin Tattar has won in Vermont the past two years — GMC in 2022 and PDGA Pro Worlds in 2023 — and finished strong in the opening round to grab an early two-stroke lead. Tattar birdied four of the last five and the final three holes for a 7-under, 1016-rated round. She led in strokes gained tee-to-green at 6.34 on Brewster Ridge.
Ohn Scoggins started strong — 4-for-4 — and battled back from bogies the rest of the way for a 5-under total in solo second place. Rebecca Cox and Henna Blomroos will round out the lead card on Friday at Fox Run Meadows in a tie for third with Hailey King and Silva Saarinen at 4-under.
Things are even tighter in MPO and Alden Harris, after a bogey-free, 11-under par round rated 1069 leads the pack. Harris was solid in every area and hit five putts from C2 to grab the day-one lead.
Right behind him are Eagle McMahon, Casey White and Evan Smith at 10-under. McMahon and White also went bogey-free and Smith had a field-high 12 birdies to make the lead card.
In total, 17 players are within three strokes of the lead.
It's tight on the mountain and there are three rounds left to go.
