If you’ve been following the National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships (NCDGC) over the last few days, you shouldn’t be surprised to hear that we (tournament staff) were all elated to have finally made it to the Team Championship Finals on Saturday. Running the NCDGC is an exhausting process matched by no other event in the sport. With only one round of team doubles remaining for the Championship Flight, First Flight, and Second Flight, the morning and afternoon felt like a vacation compared to the days prior.

In the last two days of competition at the 2017 National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships, the teams that make up the Championship Flight have played in three team doubles rounds and one round of singles on a combined four courses here at the Hippodrome Disc Golf Complex. If you’ve been following the results online, there’s a good chance you’re a bit confused as to who’s in the lead. Worry not, disc golf fans. No one knows who’s in the lead just yet. The long-awaited results of today’s rounds will determine which teams make the cut for the finals on Saturday. Finally, we’ll know who’s winning!

Two rounds down, and a lot more to go here at the 2017 National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships (NCDGC) here at the Hippodrome Disc Golf Complex in North Augusta, South Carolina. 43 schools from around the country teed off in unison on Wednesday morning playing two full rounds of a highly unique version of team doubles; a format that has become an NCDGC staple.
There is no better place to be than the greater Augusta area this time of year if you’re a fan of golf, especially if you’re a fan of both traditional and disc golf. As spring begins to set in, Augusta hosts what is generally considered the most renowned PGA Major of the year, The Masters, and one of the most unique PDGA Majors of the year, the National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships (NCDGC).
