Memorial Broadcast
DiscGolfPlanet.tv to Launch Expanded 2011 Broadcast Schedule at The Memorial Championship presented by Discraft
While most of the nation is under snow, the disc golf community will be treated to Live Internet Broadcasting of The Memorial Championship presented by Discraft, as coverage begins on Thursday, March 3rd, continues on Friday, March 4th, and concludes with the crowning of a pro champion on Saturday, March 5th.
The only Live Disc Golf broadcasting of its kind, DiscGolfPlanet.tv will be expanding its capabilities in 2011, as it brings you play from all 18 holes at the beautiful Fountain Hills disc golf course in Arizona.
"We have been refining our broadcast model, since our first show in October 2009," explained Dr. John G. Duesler, Jr., Disc Golf Planet TV's Executive Producer. "And, with the expertise of so many in our disc golf community, but especially Terry Roddy, whose work on the PGA Tour has been invaluable, we have brought our production capabilities totally in-house! This is exciting for us and for our viewers, since it will allow us to broadcast more disc golf throughout the year."
Just the talent alone for the broadcast is a Who's Who of dedicated PDGA Members. "Crazy" John Brooks (PDGA#: 2022), David Greenwell (PDGA#: 962), Terry Miller (PDGA#: 10738) and Rebecca Duffy (PDGA#: 33115) will team-up to provide the most entertaining and insightful coverage that we have ever offered to our viewers.
The PDGA has also stepped up to play a special role during this season's live broadcasting by becoming a "Founding Partner" with DiscGolfPlanet.tv. PDGA members (and non-members) have been thrilled with the coverage from around the country, and their support, along with Innova Champion, Philadelphia Insurance Companies, Dynamic Discs, Whirld Sports, and Disc Golf Center are making these live broadcasts possible.
All donors to the Live Internet Broadcasting will be eligible for an impressive list of prizes, culminating with a Discraft Chainstar disc golf target being given away Saturday during the final round. You can support live disc golf coverage by donating now.
