Chantel Budinsky kept it clean during the third round of the 2021 PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships on Wednesday in Orlando, Florida.

As a result, the Canadian finds herself atop the Advanced Women’s leaderboard.

Budinsky fired off the hot round of the afternoon – a bogey-free, 5-under par at The Woods at Turkey Lake – to claim a one-shot lead over Melody Castruita.

She finished strong with three-straight birdies on the back nine, while Castruita, the opening-day leader, stumbled in the finish with back-to-back double bogies.

Daniel Schnabel, Craig Wesnofske and Nathan Deledda were all tied for second place after Tuesday’s opening round at the Green Gauntlet at Palmetto Point Park.

But now, 36 holes later, the trio are co-leaders in the MA40 division at 15-under. Schnabel matched Chace McMichael for the hottest round of the afternoon at 49 to pull into a three-way tie. McMichael is three shots back.

The leaderboard was similar at the midway point of a 36-hole day for the A Pool in Advanced Men. But then, some separation happened.

Evan Scott went four down on the closing nine on Tuesday while a surging Robert Burridge settled for three pars in the stretch. Scott leads Burridge, who jumped from the chase card heading into Thursday, by a single stroke, 27-under to 26-under par.

Scott moved into the lead with day-one leader Ezra Hapner after the hot round of 45 at Turkey Lake before taking the out-right lead. Aidan Scott used a 46 in the morning to jump to the lead card and is two back of Evan Scott. Hapner sits at 21-under par.

In the B Pool, Cole Farley completed the first two days of action at 16-under par heading into Wednesday night’s shuffle. Nathaniel Johnson jumped from the C Pool into a tie for sixth at 17-under.

Around Orlando:

• Meg Sapp was able to trim two strokes off Serenity Madison’s lead in FA40 with a round of 58 in the woods at Turkey Lake.
• Mike Mathis kept the cleanest sheet of the day at Palmetto Point with a hot round of 4-under to build a three-stroke lead in MA50 at 18-under. Damon Clark is second at 15-under.
• In FA50, Erin Fitzpatrick grabbed the solo lead in the morning and expanded it with the hot round of the afternoon by six strokes at Barnett Park. She leads Karin Falcone by nine strokes.
• Sam Dodd erased a one-shot deficit with the hot round at Palmetto Point Park to pull to a tie at the top with James Luppino in MA55. Paul Kiersnowski is one stroke back.
• Cheryl Zimmerman erased a two-stroke deficit from Tuesday with a pair of hot rounds on Wednesday. She leads Toni Marston by eight strokes.
• George Bodiroga and A. Ray went low into the 40s at The Woods at Turkey Lake to springboard to the top in MA60. Bodiroga shot the hot round of 46 – a 986-rated third round – to lead the field at 15-under par. Ray and Ted Moens are one shot back at 14-under.
• In FA60, Maureen Miller remained in firm control with a 12-stroke lead.
• Michael Schweitzer also enjoyed a stroll through the woods on Wednesday with a 49 to grow a three-stroke lead in MA65. Nick Repar matched that 49 and is three strokes back at 9-under.
• Mary Ellen Moeller is off to the races for the FA65 world title.
• Pete May was consistent on day with a pair of 58s to grab a one-stroke lead over Buz Ryalls-Clephane in MA70.
• In FA70, Lynda Voss adds a hometown name atop the leaderboard. The Orlando native has a sizeable lead over Paula Bowen.
