2024 College Disc Golf National Championship — Day 3 Recap
The top prize in College Disc Golf comes down to this: The top-seed leading the way with an in-state foe and the defending champion right behind them.
That sets up a Championship Saturday showdown at the 2024 College Disc Golf National Championship in Men’s Division I.
UNC Charlotte returns to Winthrop Lakefront with a four-stroke lead over NC State, the No. 4 seed, and Cincinnati, the defending champion.
In the Women’s Division I title race, it’s the No. 3 seed leading the top two seeds.

It was set up by a wild moving day in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
UNC Charlotte’s Tom Shanley, Glenn Fister, Owen Rice and Jack Lang led the charge with a blistering 16-under round at Westminster Park on a day where a bulk of the field scorched the track.
NC State — Zachary Guess, Gus Jones, Logan Edelman and Liam McWhorter — matched that hot round to jump from a logjam in at T5 into a tie for second with Cincinnati, who shot a 15-under. The Bearcats — Bradley Caldwell and Tanner Young return from 2023 and are joined by Ilkin Groh and Lucas Foglesong — had a comeback win last year.

Emporia State (Isaiah Esquivel, Justin Farrell, TJ Reel and Cade Kohlmeier) is one stroke back of NC State and Cincinnati in solo fourth.
UNC Charlotte had the hot round of 6-under on Thursday at Winthrop Lakefront, which features the daunting holes of USDGC in 17 and 18. Cincinnati and Emporia State both shot 3-under.
In Women’s Division I, it was a slugfest in the woods of Camp Canaan.
Liberty started strong — a 4-under pace through the first seven holes — and bounced back on the tricky back nine with three birdies, including a long putt from Dimartino on the 18th for the hot round of 5-under and a three-stroke lead. Liberty had a one-stroke lead entering Friday.
Clemson’s Missoury Wolff and Noelle Erb followed with a 3-under round and Emporia State’s Atlanta Krueger and Ringgold shot 2-under and are five strokes back.
Action shifts to Winthrop Meadows.

The wildest finish to the 2024 CDGNC may very well come from Men’s Division II. Missouri S&T (Ethan Keuhn, Andrew Patton, Carter Hoog and Braden Swift) and Dayton (Andrew Watt, Kevin Brun, Ryan Almassy and Luke Radloff) are tied at the top with a one-stroke lead over Iowa State (David O’Meara, Nick Singer, Keith Friestad andn Ty Choate).
In total, nine teams are within three strokes heading back to Westminster.
In Men’s Division III, Liberty (Elijah Persson, Kyle Sennett, Graham Clawson and Ian Rankin, has a commanding lead, but the battle for the podium is on with Liberty’s D3.3 team, NC State – C, UNC Charlotte – C and Ferris State all within three strokes.
