Moving Day at Krokhol – Round 2 Recap

What a great showing we got on the second round of the DGPT Europe Elite Series Krokhol Open presented by Latitude 64!

Birdies were chased throughout the day and the leaderboards certainly look different after the second round. Across both divisions, only 7 players of the 149 players remaining have stayed in the same positions after a round that provided a lot of highlights.

First to tee off were the FPO players, and Kristin Tattar proved once again just how good she is. After a slow first round, she birdied half the holes at Krokhol Disc Golf Course. But with bogeys on the two last par 5’s, she finished -7 for the day. That took her to -10 in total, which means she heads into Final Round in T1 with Silva Saarinen, who is looking to extend her DGPT Europe win streak to 6 tournaments in a row!

Home crowd favourite Anniken Kristiansen Steen dropped a single spot on the leaderboard with a -1 round, but still finds herself on lead card heading into round 3 tomorrow, where she is joined by Keiti Tätte who climbed 5 places up with a great -4 round.

In other words, everything is still up for grabs as the weather will likely take a turn for the worse on the outskirts of Oslo.

Although dropping out of the lead card, Heidi Laine also deserves a mention, as she managed to get an eagle on hole 18, which means that she now has 2 eagles for the event. In fact, those two eagles are the only ones in the FPO division, so hopefully the gallery that come to see her tomorrow will be treated with a hattrick!

In the MPO division 2x world champion Ricky Wysocki looks to be comfortable with his 7-stroke lead before he kicks off the lead card tomorrow. He followed up his incredible -13 round yesterday with a -12 round in R2, tying the hot-round of the day. That makes him bogey-free for the event, giving him the opportunity to let the rest of the field play aggressive in the tough conditions ahead.

Jakub Semerád also went -12 for the round, which made him leap 14 places up to T2. From there he will be looking to make a charge along with Väinö Mäkelä, who joins Semerád in T2 after shooting -10 today. Interestingly, Väinö was only -1 thorugh 8 holes, but from thereon out, he didn’t look back as he blazed his was to the finish with 9 birdies on the last 10 holes.

And just behind them we find Joseph Anderson taking the last spot on lead card on the final round. Had it not been for a atypical missed putt for birdie, that went OB, causing him to take a bogey, he would have found himself in 2nd place. Now though, he has a few more strokes to gain in his chase for the trophy.
