HENNA ON THE MOVE!

After a quite slow R1, Henna Blomroos came up with a round that saw her soar up the leaderboard at the DGPT Europe Elite Series Swedish Open presented by Kastaplast at Ymergårdens Discgolfcenter in Borås, Sweden.

With just a single bogey throughout the round, she finished R2 with a 1022 rated -7 round, taking her to 5 under par for the tournament so far.

She now sits tied for 1st place with fellow Finn, Silva Saarinen, who after taking bogeys on the first two holes, found the level we have seen from her in the last months and finished -4 for the round.

Yesterday, María Eldey Kristínardóttir caused a bit of an upset by taking the lead with a -5. Today however, she couldn’t find the same level of play, and while ending her round +3, she still sits -2 overall, which means she gets the chance to play on a lead card on the Disc Golf Pro Tour with a 3rd place.

Last player on the lead card for the final round is Ella Hansen, who played a quiet round in even par as she did yesterday.

First up on the tee tomorrow on chase card for the final round of the DGPT Europe Swedish Open we find Sofie Björlycke, the highest placed Swede so far. With even par in R2, she is now in 5th place +1 for the event.

She is followed by Finnish superstar Eveliina Salonen, who struggled today with a +3 round. Her caddie, James Proctor, would tell her during warm-up: ”NO FAILS IN C1”.

And with those words hanging, she did convert half her chances.

She will probably need to increase those percentages tomorrow if she is to catch her friend and current leader, Henna Blomroos.

In T7th, we find the next Swede, Matilda Ringbom, and Rachel Turton from UK, who are both +4 for the event after having played +2 in both rounds. Ringbom had a pretty quiet round today whereas Turton carded a few more birdies as well as a few more bogeys.

WELL, THAT WAS EXCITING!

Moving day at the DGPT Europe Elite Series Swedish Open presented by Kastaplast at Ymergårdens Discgolfcenter certainly gave the spectators present in Borås an exciting show!

Leading the way is James Proctor, who started R2 in 4th place, with a 1061 rated -9 showing today. The American only took a single bogey throughout the course of the day, birdieing 7 of the last 8 holes, placing him with a 3-stroke lead going into the final day.

And three strokes back we find European champion Dennis Augustsson, who blazed through the course with a tied hot round -10. The Alingsås local is no stranger to Ymergården, and he showed us that he knows how to the technical fairways.

Tied with Augustsson is Roland Kõur, who started R2 in a three-way tie for 1st place. Kõur’s pace was somewhat slower than the Swede, but his -5 round was still enough to keep him close to the lead in T2.

And last man on lead card is Eetu Tuominen, who shot -6 today. Had it not been for a bogey on the last hole, the young Finn would have been T2, but will have to settle for a T4 with Paul McBeth.

With a -4 second round, the 6x World Champion Paul McBeth is still in contention for the win atYmergårdens Discgolfcenter. And while being four strokes off the lead, he has proven time and again, that he has a certain McBeast-mode, which he will probably need in order to secure him back-to-back win at DGPT Europe Swedish Open.

Following McBeth on Chase Card is Estonian Mauri Villmann, who is -12 in total, in a four-way tie for T6th. He is tied with three Americans, Joseph Anderson, World Champion James Conrad and Bradley Williams, who misses out on chase card tomorrow.

And if you look down the list, you will find that a lot of players are not far off the lead, among which is 2x World Champion Ricky Wysocki who was +1 after R1, soared 62 spots up the leaderboard with a tied hot round of -10!
