Hot Rounds Everywhere at Junior Worlds
2022 Junior Worlds - Day 2 Recap
Day two of the 2022 PDGA Junior Disc Golf World Championships continued to produce scorching rounds throughout and the race to the podium is on heading into moving day.
There were red-hot rounds all over the tournament, including Henry Bente’s 1023-rated round in MJ16, another heater from Victoria Eriacho-Paul in FJ18 and a new co-leader in Colin Bryant in MJ15.
Bente torched Maxwell Park with a bogey-free 47 to jump to a one-stroke lead over Ilkin Groh. The two have separated themselves a little bit as Andrew Filimoehala is four strokes of the pace in third place.
Eriacho-Paul turned in her second-straight 900-plus rated round and leads FJ18 comfortably.
Bryant was clean at Maxwell as well with an 8-under 49 to pull even with Patrick Yu, who turned in a strong 7-under round as well. They lead Joseph Calabrese by one stroke.
The hot rounds were everywhere in MJ12. Briksen Pavlak had the hottest of the day at 13-under and is one of five players that finished double digits under par.
One of those was Hyrum Hart, whose 12-under round gives him a three-stroke lead over Thomas Rouse. Ellis Huxhold is in third at 13-under and Kaiden Bell joins the lead card at 12-under.
Hailey Huber continued her incredible tournament in FJ12 with an 8-under round, unofficially rated 915, the highest in her PDGA career. She leads by 14 strokes.
There were eagles and throw-ins everywhere in MJ10, including from the co-leaders Cole Kresge and Oliver Beavers. Aran Bragan and Luke Ferro also carded eagles to round out the lead card. They’re tied for third, three strokes back of Kresge and Beavers.
In MJ8, Tanner Grayum had the hot round by seven strokes and now leads Henry Tabor by six strokes. Grayum had the cleanest round of the division, including a birdie on the 510-foot par 4 12th.
Hayden Harper will head to Roanoke Park with a big lead in FJ8, which will crown a PDGA World Champion today.
