Action Shifts to Texas on the 2021 PDGA Elite Series Schedule

After a strong and highly-anticipated start to the season in the desert, the 2021 PDGA Elite Series now shifts to the beastly woods in Texas for the Waco Annual Charity Open presented by Prodigy Disc, the second stop on the 2021 Disc Golf Pro Tour.

Beginning Friday, the elite field will compete at Brazos East Park, affectionately and aptly nicknamed 'The Beast,' in Waco, Texas. The three-round event concludes Sunday.

After letting them rip at the Las Vegas Challenge, the style of play shifts dramatically in the heart of Texas along the shores of the Brazos River. The track features nine fairly open holes throughout the park and then nine technical holes with treacherous rough in the woods.

It was a year ago in Waco when the COVID-19 pandemic began to show its teeth and forced the cancellation of the third and final round. Colten Montgomery, with a back-nine charge, grabbed his first DGPT victory while Eveliina Salonen out-dueled Henna Blomroos for the FPO title. They were the final tournament champions crowned before a two-month shutdown of action.

With protocols in place, the 2021 edition of WACO is primed to test the best of the best in what has been a tightly-contested event year-in and year-out.

Beginning Friday, it's time to tame the beast... or at least attempt to do so.

Here’s everything else you need to know to catch the action this weekend:
