After a heated day of competition, both figuratively and literally, 16 new champions emerged at the 2015 PDGA Amateur & Junior Disc Golf World Championships presented by Bell’s Brewery. The 760 boys, girls, men, and women that spent the last eight days here in Kalamazoo were blessed by amazing weather and an incredibly well run event thanks to Tournament Director Larry LaBond #6903 and his enormous team of staff and volunteers.

Four days of grueling competition later, the 2015 PDGA Amateur & Junior Disc Golf World Championships must part ways with hundreds of competitors, as the field has now been cut from 750+ to roughly 225 for the semifinals and finals tomorrow morning and afternoon. But it’s not exactly that simple, so let’s break it down.

Amateur World Champion Crowned

While some were fighting to make the cut today in Kalamazoo, there were a few that were already playing their final round. The Advanced Senior Grandmaster Women had one last round of 18 holes at Vicksburg this morning playing from the short tees as the division itself had only three competitors overall.

The schedule in the guidebooks that were given out to the players during check-in have incorrect course assignments for the S pools for the Semi-Finals on Saturday. Please download the latest schedule and please, share this information with any players that you know in those divisions!

It’s hard to believe that we’re only three days in to the 2015 PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships for a large majority of the 750+ players that comprise 17 divisions spread out among the nine courses being used. A minimum of 90 holes of disc golf have already been completed with at least another full round to go! If you think with that much golf in the books that the scores should be quite spread out, we’d probably agree, and in the case of 2015 Am Worlds, we’d both be wrong.

Two days down and two to go here in Kalamazoo for the 2015 PDGA Amateur & Junior Disc Golf World Championships! The end of day two can mean only one thing…the dreaded (or sometimes looked forward to) shuffle. The shuffle only affects the divisions with more players than a single pool can handle but that also means by default it affects the divisions with the most competitors. No matter which way you try to spin it, it’s….kind of a big deal.

Coldbrook Park

14467 East MN Ave
Climax, MI 49034

Our area’s oldest course. It is an “old School” course that has a lot of holes that are as easy to birdie as they are to boogie. All 24 holes of Coldbrook will be played. While Coldbrook has gone through a few changes over the years, the basic characteristic of the course has remained. The majority of the holes go throughout the woods with only a few holes that are open. Elevation changes are on just about every hole. Hit your lines and make you putts and you will have a ton of fun at Coldbrook. Let the course get into your head and you will get mad!

The invitation emails (and USPS mail for US members without email addresses) were sent out today for both Pro and Amateur/Junior Worlds.  Any invitees without email addresses in their membership record, or who have opted out of broadcast emails from the PDGA, will not receive an invitation email. However, they may still view the same invitation materials here:
