Ezra Aderhold knows that a lead after two rounds of a tournament isn't enough to bring home the top prize.

But after a sizzling second round at the 2021 Las Vegas Challenge presented by Innova on Friday, he's placed himself firmly in contention in the desert.

There were some familiar names on top of the leaderboard following round one of the Las Vegas Challenge presented by Innova.

After a windy day, Calvin Heimburg holds a one-stroke lead in the tightly packed men’s division, and Paige Pierce has a four-stroke lead over the women’s field, which includes 46 players.

Excitement and anticipation levels are through the roof in the desert and that can only mean one thing: it's time for professional disc golf.

The 2021 Elite Series officially kicks off Thursday, Feb. 25 with the Las Vegas Challenge presented by Innova, the first stop on the 2021 Disc Golf Pro Tour.

Over four days, the elite field will compete on the three courses at the Wild Horse Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nevada in the four-round event.

The Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship is set to break the all-time payouts record for a second-consecutive year. The Tour is guaranteeing a minimum purse of $150,000 and at least $25,000 for the Men’s and Women’s winners, according to a statement put out late Tuesday afternoon.

The schedule for the 2021 PDGA A-Tiers is now available, along with the 2021 PDGA Tour Standards that will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2021.

PDGA state and provincial coordinators may now start accepting requests for approval of dates for 2021 B-Tier and C-Tier events.

The 2021 PDGA Event Sanctioning Form is now enabled, so tournament directors for pre-approved 2021 A-Tiers and State/Provincial Coordinator-approved 2021 B & C-Tiers may now submit their sanctioning.

Gregg Barsby found himself looking over the vast fjords on the western coast of Norway, a beautiful disc golf course and a disc golf hungry community behind him.

A destination and experience that is second to none.

“You take a second to look around and realize where you are in the world and what you’re doing,” Barsby said. “At Sula, the water is right there, the mountains, the cliffs – everything. On a clear day when the water is calm, it’s a mirror effect.

“You just have to see it for yourself.”

In 2021, the entire world will get to see what Norway and European disc golf has to offer.

When the disc golf history books are written, 2020 may be looked back upon as the lost year; at least—that is—at the very highest levels of the sport.
