SANTA CRUZ, California – The Santa Cruz Masters Cup has come down to its final act, and Paige Pierce finds herself in a familiar position – three shots clear of the field and eyeing her 25th National Tour title.
Pierce had to fight off another slow start during round two, carding three consecutive bogeys after her drive on hole 3 got hung up in a tree on the right side of the fairway for a two-meter penalty and her drive from the top of the world (hole 4) hyzered OB left.
Jeffersonville, VT – After months of troubleshooting, and due to a lack of service at Delaveaga Disc Golf Course, the Disc Golf Network can confirm that live coverage will not be an option for this weekend’s Santa Cruz Masters Cup, a PDGA National Tour event. After significant testing and efforts to implement solutions on site, the final call was made late last week to suspend attempts to run a partial broadcast with unreliable service.

The days of bogey-free disc golf are over for the world’s top players in Emporia, it would seem.
Through the first two days of the Dynamic Disc Open there were 17 clean rounds carded by the field; on Friday there were none.
Paul McBeth came close. His only hiccup came in the form of a double bogey on the challenging 699-foot par-4 9th after he went OB off the tee and was forced to stop the bleeding with a clutch 38-foot putt.

The late Dr. Stancil Johnson, PDGA#009, was fond of quoting Michael Murphy’s 1972 classic, Golf in the Kingdom, which casts the sport as a contest between the golfer and the golf course; an effort to master one’s surroundings.

The best players in the world don’t like to leave anything up to chance. Sitting atop the mountain, they’d prefer to just let the best man win.
The Dogwood course, site of the 26th Annual Texas Disc Golf Championship, has other ideas. With walls of trees and twisting narrow fairways, Dogwood delivers more than enough surprises to thwart even the most meticulously prepared competitors.
The decision to move to equal payouts was based on the principle of equality and the PDGA’s determination to grow the sport among underserved demographics, which includes women.
