Am Worlds

The locations of two Major events for the 2015 calendar for the PDGA were up for bid throughout the off season.  The 2015 Tim Selinske US Masters Championship and the 2015 Amateur World Championships were looking for a home.  Bids poured in over the winter break and several cities proposed to host these prestigious disc golf events.  Although many intriguing bids were submitted, only two cities would be able to call themselves a host of a PDGA major in 2015.

Primary Host Hotel

The 2012 World Championships will put the spotlight on established, world-class courses like Hornet’s Nest and Renaissance, and give players the chance to experience newer courses such as Nevin, R.L. Smith and Bradford, which are bristling with challenges.

All 14 courses used are in our home county and within 30 minutes of The Blake, the host hotel located in uptown Charlotte. Most Pro divisions will play three courses twice in preliminary rounds, with most Amateur players playing five different courses.

The World Championships return to historic Rochester, New York for the third time and Clash DVD was there to capture it. The Greater Rochester Disc Golf Club put on one of the most exciting Amateur and Junior Worlds ever!

This 2 DVD set includes in depth looks at all the beautiful and challenging courses (including the Final 9 Temp-Course at Monroe Community College), the Putting Final 9 from inside the Radisson Hotel, Field Events and Doubles with a peak at the Putting and Long Drive clinics hosted by John E. The 2011 Am Worlds has just lined up the venue for the Players Party. We will be hosting the party at Rochester’s own Frontier Field on Friday July 29th. Frontier Field is home to the AAA Rochester Red Wings and is a short walk from the host hotel.
