Disc golf is returning to the Worldwide Leader in Sports this weekend.

At 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, November 14, the 2021 Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship presented by Guaranteed Rate is set to air on ESPN2.

Both fans of the sport, as well as casual viewers, will see the exciting conclusion to the 2021 DGPT season in this two-hour event, which will be the second time that disc golf will be featured on the ESPN family of networks in 2021 and third time in the past two years.

The numbers are in and they show that disc golf's network debut on ESPN2 was an unqualified success. With over 225,000 total viewers, including 115,000 in the key 18-49 year old sales demographic, the two-hour broadcast, which featured the final round of the 2020 DGPT Championship, was well ahead of any other ESPN2 programming for the day.

Putting the capstone on a season that has ranged from the dark moments of early season cancellations to the limelight of its first forrays into network television, disc golf made its long-awaited debut on ESPN2 last night and reactions have been pouring in from longtime fans and new viewers alike.

Watson Sets the Pace

Easily the most retweeted comment of the night came courtesy of two-time Masters champion and PDGA member, Bubba Watson, who chimed-in early in the broadcast:

ESPN2 will air a two-hour special presentation of the 2020 Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship during its 8pm Eastern prime time slot on Tuesday, November 24, following NFL Live.

The Thanksgiving week program will feature footage from the final day of competition, which saw Kevin Jones (MPO) and Hailey King (FPO) claim dramatic victories as well as record-setting winner’s checks.
