On December 3rd through 5th The Innagural Fly Ink Open presetned by The San Antonio Disc Club will be contested in San Antonio, TX on three amazing courses. Players will play one round each on two unique courses at Live Oak Park and one round at the heavily wooded Bryan McClain Park. In addition to being an A Tier this event is also the 2010 Alamo Disc Series presented by DiscGolfStation.com final event. Players are competing for an extra $1,000 in series bonus payouts. After the tournament the players with the top 4 total scores plus one lucky raffle winner will compete in a $1,000 skins match.  When its all said and done this event will have over $8,000 in added payout.  This event is close to capacity so players are encouraged to get registered soon. For details on how to register visit www.sanantoniodiscclub.com/flyink.htm. Even if you can’t play, spectators are encouraged to come out and watch some amazing action on a very spectator friendly course.

On December 11th and 12th the 7th Annual Piney Woods Pro Am A Tier will be contested at Lindsey Park in Tyler, TX. Lindsey has three courses in one park. Ranging in difficulty from the Red Standard Cedar Course to the Blue Standard Hickory Course to the Gold Standard Dogwood Course. These courses are a blast with Dogwood being one of the more difficult courses in Texas. Dogwood, played with the pins in a long position, is a true par 63. Every year the Rose City Disc Club works hard to tweak the courses and continues to bring challenging play to local and visiting players. Each course has either alternate tees, alternate pins and in some cases both. This event has grown every year, starting as a B Tier and moving to it's current status of A tier for Professional and Advanced divisions and B Tier for Recreational, Intermediate and Junior divisions. The main goal is a charity benefit and yet there is still enough to offer a great event for pros and amateurs alike. In years past this tournament has pulled multiple players from as far away as British Columbia and Australia. Some of the past winners have consistently come back, time after time, because of the courses and how hard the Rose City Disc Club works to make this tournament what it is. This has been a charity event for five of the last six events.  Of those five events over $35,000 has been raised for various charities.  Last year this tournament raised close to $11,000 for the Children's Miracle Network (see the video below for more information).
