After reviewing the most recent data regarding the air quality in the Peoria, Illinois area, the PDGA and tournament staff have made the difficult decision to suspend play on Wednesday for the day, resulting in changes to the schedule for the rest of the week.

This is a decision that did not come lightly, and one made with the safety of all competitors in mind.

The changes will allow every single competitor to play at least four full rounds of disc golf during the 2023 PDGA Amateur and Junior Disc Golf World Championships.

Below you will find notes on the revised schedule for the rest of week:

Amateur Worlds

Important Note: There will be no cut for Amateur Worlds.

A Pool

After delays on Tuesday, the A Pool completed their rounds at Wildlife and will play at Northwood Black on Thursday. Players will play with their first-round groups at their first-round tee times at Northwood Black.

B Pool

Players who were on the course, but did not finish on Tuesday, must return to their last lie and will restart play at the designated time. There will be a two-minute warning at 7:18 a.m. before restarting play at 7:20 a.m. Upon completion of the round, these groups will then play Wildlife on Thursday afternoon, with the same groups and at the same tee time they started play at on Tuesday.

The four groups that did not start their rounds will tee off according to this schedule:

  • The Tuesday 2:39 p.m. group will now tee off on hole 1 at Northwood Black at 7:20 a.m. on Thursday.
  • The Tuesday 2:50 p.m. group will now tee off on hole 1 at Northwood Black at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday.
  • The Tuesday 3:01 p.m. group will now tee off on hole 1 at Northwood Black at 7:40 a.m. on Thursday.
  • The Tuesday 3:11 p.m. group will now tee off on hole 1 at Northwood Black at 7:50 a.m. on Thursday.

Upon completion of the first round, these groups will then play Wildlife on Thursday afternoon, with the same group and at the same tee time they were originally scheduled to play on Tuesday.

The groups that completed their first round at Northwood Black on Tuesday will play in the same group and at the same tee time they played on Tuesday, but at Wildlife.

C Pool

Players who were on the Northwood Blue course, but did not finish, must return to their last lie and will start play at 7:20 a.m. on Thursday. There will be a two-minute warning at 7:18 a.m. Upon completion of the first round, these groups will then play their second round at Northwood Blue, with the same groups and at the same tee time they started play at on Tuesday.

The groups that completed their round at Northwood Blue will play in the same group and at the same tee time they played at on Tuesday.

Junior Worlds

The schedule has changed for the rest of the week and the new schedule includes four rounds of play for all competitors.

Important Notes: D, E, F and G pools will have tee times on Friday. All junior shotgun starts are now scheduled for 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. After the MJ18 shuffle, there will no longer be an E pool. All MJ18 will be in the D Pool and MJ15 will in the F Pool.

Note for J Pool

Players will return to their lies on the Goodfield course to resume play at 8 a.m. There will be a two-minute warning at 7:58 a.m.. The second round for the J pool originally scheduled at Washington at 9 a.m. will be moved to 1 p.m. in the afternoon.
