Missy Gannon had plans to go swimming when she got to the course on Sunday morning.

James Proctor asked his caddie what the situation was in the biggest moment of the weekend and made some plans himself.

Both delivered on those plans.

A thrilling finish was brewing from the first tee on Thursday morning at the 2024 Disc Golf Pro Tour — MVP Open x OTB and it happened in a big way Sunday at Maple Hill.

Starting with Gannon in the morning and capped with Proctor in the afternoon, both divisions were settled on the final hole of the four-round DGPT Playoff event, the final Elite Series stop of the season.

Gannon entered Championship Sunday three strokes back of Kristin Tattar and went on a tear — grabbing four-straight birdies entering the turn for a 5-under scorecard through nine holes. Her birdie on eight tied things up with Tattar, setting off a back-and-forth battle to the end. Gannon tied things up again with a 41-foot birdie on 17 for a two-stroke swing.

Tattar then faltered on the tricky upshot to the island green on 18 and Gannon delivered the par for a two-stroke win — her fourth Elite Series win of 2024 to go with her PDGA Major title at the USWDGC — and the celebratory pond jump that she planned to do Sunday morning.

Tattar finished second at Maple Hill for the fourth time in her career. Ohn Scoggins finished in third.

Proctor wasn't sure the situation when he stepped up the drop zone on the 18th.

The rest is history, indeed, as Proctor would cash in the tough putt for the one-stroke win, he second Elite Series win of 2024 and first on American soil.

His 8-under round, which included three hits from Circle 2 and a 10-for-10 mark from Circle 1, was enough to erase a two-stroke deficit as the rest of the card failed to get anything going on Sunday. Proctor becomes the seventh-straight final round comeback winner at Maple Hill, according to StatMando.

It came with a few highlights:

Paul McBeth matched the hot round of the weekend with an 11-under on Sunday to jump to solo second place from the chase card. He was waiting the result's of Proctor's putt from the drop zone.

Gavin Babcock, Gannon Buhr, Aaron Gossage, and Ricky Wysocki tied for third.

Next up is the final PDGA MPO Major of the year, the USDGC, and the Throw Pink Women's Disc Golf Championship in two weeks in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
