5.06 Did Not Play, Did Not Finish, Ratings Manipulation, and Disqualification

- Did Not Play.
- Any registered player who did not compete in an event must be removed from the event entirely prior to the calculation of payouts.
- If the TD wishes for any portion of the player’s net entry fee to be added to payout for their division, they should add it to the Added Cash for that division.
- Players who do not compete in an event must not receive a 999 Did Not Finish code.
- Did Not Finish.
- Any registered player who:
- does not finish an event for any reason other than ratings manipulation; and
- notifies the TD that they will not finish the event either before leaving the venue or before the start of the next round, whichever is earlier;
must be listed as “Did Not Finish” (DNF) with a 999 code.
- The 999 code carries no penalty, but the player will not receive PDGA Points for competing in the event.
- Any registered player who:
- Ratings manipulation and leaving without notifying the TD (formerly 888).
- The use of the 888 code and accompanying ratings penalty is discontinued as of January 1, 2025.
- Instead, ratings manipulation and leaving without notifying the TD are now disciplinary matters, and punished as a Class D4 Offense under the Disciplinary Policy & Process and according to the following rubric:
- First instance: Warning letter from the Disciplinary Committee.
- Second instance: 6 months of probation.
- Third instance: 1 month of suspension.
- Fourth instance: 3 months of suspension.
- Fifth instance: 6 months of suspension.
- Sixth instance or more: 12 months of suspension.
- Disqualification.
- If a player is disqualified (DQed) from an event, the TD must:
- Provide details of the circumstances leading to the DQ in the TD Notes field on the Event Report; and
- Remove the player from the event’s player listing:
- after the event payout is completed (their player count and entry fees remain in their division); but
- prior to submitting the official report.
- DQed players do not get the benefit of credit for the event or ratings for the event rounds that they completed prior to their DQ.
- If a player is disqualified (DQed) from an event, the TD must:
