As he stood on the 18th green Sunday afternoon at the Preserve Championship with 25 feet between him and victory, it was fair to wonder where Nikko Locastro’s head was at. Just one hole before, the Missouri native had made a last-second disc switch and laid up from 50 feet, and all day he’d been mired in the passionate, yet sometimes negative self-talk he’s grown to be known for throughout his 15-year pro career.

With a laser-like drive, a skip off the hard-pack green, and an oh-so-friendly roll, Calvin Heimburg was left with a tap-in eagle to close out his second round at the Preserve Championship Saturday afternoon.

Whether it’s due to offseason rust or the style of courses played in the early stretches of the pro disc golf season, James Conrad hasn’t traditionally been one for fast starts.

The second of two new Disc Golf Pro Tour events finds the PDGA's Elite Series returning to Minnesota for the first time since 2016. But instead of the sport's finest shredding the hallowed Blue Ribbon Pines – the annual home of The Majestic, which was last on the circuit in its inaugural season but has yet to return – a new North Star State venue will take center stage.

And by new, we mean new.

In Emporia, it’s never over until it’s over.

Paul McBeth looked unbeatable in the early goings Sunday afternoon at the Country Club. After he sank a 50-foot putt in swirling winds to take the lone birdie on hole 2 during the final round of the Dynamic Discs Open, he was up six shots on his nearest competitor and in complete control.

Then, all of a sudden, he wasn’t.

You know how the adage goes: “It’s better to be lucky than good.”

Well, on a day when Paul McBeth continued to be very, very good, he also closed out his second round of the Dynamic Discs Open as the beneficiary of some fortune.

If Offseason 2.0 resulted in rust for players on the Disc Golf Pro Tour, Paul McBeth and Paige Pierce seemed to have the antidote.

PDGA Elite Series play resumes this weekend with the third stop of the 2020 Disc Golf Pro Tour, The Dynamic Discs Open. Competition will take place from June 26-28 with feature and lead card coverage broadcast live on the Disc Golf Network. Coverage will begin at 2 p.m. CT each day with the MPO division, and the FPO division will join the broadcast at 4 p.m. CT.

The PDGA Elite Series is back in action this week with the return of the Disc Golf Pro Tour. The newly minted Dynamic Discs Open will serve as the 2020 touring season restart and will be contested over three rounds in Emporia, Kansas at the Emporia Country Club. The field, like all DGPT events, consists of just two divisions, Open and Open Women.

WACO, Texas – On a day full of uncertainty, Colten Montgomery had a plan and stuck with it until the very end.

The Beast at Brazos is back.

The Waco Annual Charity Open, the second stop on the Disc Golf Pro Tour, returns for its third year. The heralded Brazos Park East course has seen some small, but significant changes, the most obvious of which is a change in the course par. Last year’s course weighed in as a par-67. This year, it’s a par 64.
