The published description of this place is pretty accurate. It's a huge outdoor rec area with miles of ATV and horse trails. The course is definitely challenging. Fairways are tight and the rough is unforgiving. The course is well marked and there are concrete tee pads (some holes have dual tees) throughout. I played right after a thunderstorm and the course was a little muddy but still doable. Holes vary from short to long. The shorties aren't "gimmes" though. They have doglegs, elevation changes, etc that make you earn the shot. Longer holes have "S"-shaped fairways, doglegs, ravines, etc., that definitely emphasize the importance of shot management. Big-armed players may take a beating here if they don't choose their shots wisely. Personally, I like some of the Charlotte courses and Chapin (Crooked Creek) better but this place was nice because it was very challenging and completely deserted on a Friday. Definitely recommend a visit for Charlotte/Columbia types.
