Pierce, Buhr Bring It Home
Final Recap – Portland Open
FPO
Paige Pierce was four strokes behind after Thursday’s first round at the DGPT Elite+ 2024 Portland Open presented by Latitude 64. Then, she sat three back after round two.
On Saturday, Pierce’s hot round vaulted her into a 2-stroke lead – useful, but not comfortable.
Sunday, Pierce showed the determination of a player working back from injury.
All the way back.

Pierce (-26) played the first 17 holes bogey free, with nine birdies, setting an uncatchable pace, and allowing her the luxury of playing a safe, conservative final hole to win by two over Holyn Handley, who surged to second with an 11-under hot round of the day.
Sofia Donnecke (-21) finished her best performance of her young career on the podium, with Kat Mertsch (-19) and Missy Gannon (-18) rounding out the top five.

The question was never “if” Gannon Buhr would win, but by how much. In the end, a casual 4-under par day would prove to be enough for Buhr (-33) to best the field by eight for his second DGPT Elite+ victory of the 2024 season. (In fact, he’s now won EVERY DGPT Elite+ event ever played).
On a day when scores were not as impressive as Saturday’s – at least at the top of the leaderboard – Cole Redalen (-25) would hold onto second place with a 6-under day. Likewise, Ricky Wysocki’s (-23) 4-under effort was enough to keep him in solo third.
Aaron Gossage’s own 6-under day – which was the hot round shared by several in the field – vaulted him up eight positions into a tie for fourth with Isaac Robinson, both at 21-under-par.
The tour rolls just 20 miles from from Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland to Milo McIver State Park in Estacada, Oregon for a Friday, June 7 start at the DGPT - 2024 Beaver State Fling Presented by Innova.
