Course Reviews

I recently got a round in at Frog Rock DGC. This was my first round out at this course so this review is only based off of one round on only one of the layouts. One of the layouts, you may ask? Yes, this course has multiple layouts. From what I learned during this round of playing the short baskets, there are also long baskets for each hole as well as other pin locations that baskets can be moved to. From what I understand, you could play this course a few times on different occasions and potentially never loop the same exact layout. This, to me, is good but also bad. What I mean by this is that if you are somewhat local and can play this course often, you can constantly play different layouts and enjoy as many different pin positions as possible. The con of it to me is if you are outside of the area, like myself, and stop here during your travels you may absolutely love the layout and the next time you drive through, it could be in a completely different layout. Yes I do realize there is a chance you may like the different layout more but that nostalgic feeling of a course you once enjoyed may not hit you. I love playing different courses and different layouts so I think this is a great thing but I could see how this could possibly make you choose a different course on your next trip through. As far as the layout I played on this occasion, which I believe is called Red A, I rather enjoyed it. There was a good mix of left to right and right to left playing holes which is always a plus. The course is fairly open compared to what I am used to in east Tennessee, but would still be considered a wooded course. Keep in mind, I am used to heavily wooded courses. Most of the holes were shorter holes just under or just over 300' but all of them had nice clean fairways. One more thing I would like to point out is that the course also has quite a bit less elevation than I am used to also. There are definitely a few holes with terrain changes, but definitely no big hills you have to climb up or down. The course seemed to be very well kept and respected by the local disc golf community. To sum this course up I will ask myself if I would play this course again if I had the opportunity to. The answer would be a quick yes. I would love to get another round on the short baskets (to try and knock off some of those needless bogeys) and I would also like to try out the long baskets at some point as well. Well laid out for the flat terrain. Solid distances and great tunnel fairways. Very quiet and peaceful
